U.S Airways crashed in East London

One Thames plane surviver rushed to Queens Hospital, Romford due to suspected heart attack. After medical checks arrangements for other passengers to continue their journey from London city airport or return home.

Food, drinks, phones and wifi are some of the resources Purfleet heritage and Military centre has provided for the surviving passengers, Essex police and ambulance services are attending to all survivers after their ordeal.

First passengers have been towed ashore as U.S Airways staff have reported all 42 passengers and 6 crew members have been accounted for, while Essex ambulance continue with medical check and 2 passengers being treated for minor injuries.

Nadine Johnson claims to have survived the crash and shares a picture of the incident on ‘x’, sharing her shock to be ‘spending her birthday on the wing of a plane’, the ‘x’ user goes on to praise the pilot calling him a ‘legend’ for ‘ getting us down in one piece’

Officers and Gravesend RNLI life boats are the scene reports Essex police, the aircraft is 100 meters offshore from Purfleet RSPB Reserve and passengers are alighting from the wings and front of the craft into life rafts.

2:50pm

London City Airport announces loss of communication with flight US132 headed for Amsterdam at 2:31pm, shortly after take off from LCY the pilot reported engine failure resulting in an emergency landing in Rainham.

2:40pm

All of Londons emergency serves have been called to the Thames near Rainham, including the Royal National lifeboat institution, Thame river police and supporting emergency units from Kent and Essex.

This afternoon ‘RiverWatcher’ x user shares a photograph of U.S Airways commercial passenger jet that appeared to have crashed in the Rainham Marshes area of the river Thames, a maximum of 200 passengers could be aboard the vessel. live updates will beg provided as the story unfolds.
